Despues de demasiado tiempo aparecemos de nuevo... :-)

Para el cumpleaños de Vera le hicimos una decoracion asi que aqui se puede ver mas o menos como quedo.

Como se habran dado cuenta, el tema era La Sirenita. Entonce tiene que estar tambien la bruja Ursula... pues ella fue la piñata, artistas... las niñas.

So yes.... we decided to wrap up and go out there and start enjoying the winter that knocked at our door. The kids, as usual, had a blast! What is more fun than getting all cold and white??? Hehehe.... This winter promises to be a long and cold one, so... lots of snow!!!!

Finalmente devuelta! Cambios, cambios, y mas cambios. Desde ahora trataremos de mantenerlos al dia.
Hace dos semanas nos mudamos de casa, que trabajazo! Si no fuera por los amigos que nos ayudaron nos hubiéramos vuelto locos! El nuevo apartamento es muy bonito, moderno, y con una localización excelente, no en la cuidad pero cerca. Dios a echo tantos milagros este ultimo año y aqui nos encontramos.

On this very special day our princes had loads of fun and lots of time with Dad and Mom. Here are a few pictures of the events of the day.

Skiing in Switzerland

So... we're sort of back to our blog. Last year was an amazingly busy one and this one is promising to be the same.

Last week we went skiing in St. Gallen. How fun! The kids had an amazing time learning how to master the snow and their extra long feet, hehe. Arkos is amazing, such a fast learner and really good in any sport he's tried so far. I didn't take many pics, it was too cold to keep my hands uncover for longer than a few seconds, but here are some shots and video clips to give you an idea of our excursion.

We had a little barbecue party for the kids birthday with just the aunties and uncles. The whole day they were dying to open their presents and finally when Daddy got home they got to open them. Here are a few pictures of the evening events.

Viaje a Mar del Plata!

Por si acaso nos han echado de menos.... fuimos por un par de semanas a Mar del Plata, en Argentina, a visitar a mis hermanos. La pasamos muy bien, tuvimos tiempo de relajarnos y descansar un poco, y claro, gozamos de la playa todos los días.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had a singing appointment at 10pm. and my kids had been looking forward to going out singing with the big people so I took them regardless of the late hour. The people in the house we visited were so happy and really touched by the songs and the sample of Jesus' love they saw in everyone.
When we got home we all got ready for our Christmas dinner, the kids picked their clothes and everything, but then to my surprise when I went downstairs Arkos was asleep in the couch. My poor little man, he was so tired after all the singing and performing of the last few days.
So on with our dinner we went. Vera was quite tired as well but she sat with us and after finishing her food she went to sit on the couch and ended up falling asleep next to Arky.
They'd been asking me all day when we were going to open the presents and I kept telling them that we were going to do that after dinner. I guess their little bodies just didn't last that long and my attempts to wake them up for the opening of the presents were futile. But the happy ending of this story is that the next morning we got up and opened up the presents.

We went to "La Feria Internacional del Libro". Colombia was the guest of honor and a friend from the Colombian embassy gave us free tickets. It was a bit boring for the kids but Vera got to read a cool book in English.

And last, but not least... Jochi & Ana's wedding!
This is a young couple here in the home. They just did a civil wedding but we still held a little reception for them.

Provito 2008

The 22nd of November Vera participated in the Provito 2008 Sports Championships here in Santiago, Chile.

She started to go to gym class and it so happens that at this time of year they have championships. We had a couple weeks to practice and get the routine down. Challenge number one; class is all in Spanish and Vera does not fully understand it yet so she would just copy what the other girls were doing. Challenge number two; mom had to learn gym lingo and the steps to be able to teach the routine at home.

We did all we could and then went to the championship mostly for the experience of doing something different and participating, she had only attended four classes so far so we didn't expect much. But to our pleasant surprise Vera won two medals!!!
There were three different routines they were doing, Viga, (beam) Suelo, (floor) and Salto (jump). She won a medal for the first place on Viga and second place Salto.

A day at the Zoo

For parent day we took the kids to the Zoo that is at the foot of "El Cerro San Cristobal". We saw lions, tigers, and bears... oh my! As well as other animals too. Here are some pics of the occasion.

A lot of the animals were just lazing around... too hot to show us their moves.

Oh, we saw a Condor, the biggest flying bird! He didn't fly for us but the kids took pics sitting on a statue of it.

Then after a nice long walk in the zoo we took them to the Parque Araucano, a very nice, big park here full of all kinds of kid friendly games. Time to relax those aching legs.

Four years ago our handsome little boy was born in the valley of Sion, Switzerland. Man, was he eager to come out on time, I was barely in the hospital for an hour and he just pushed his way into the world!
